Indonesia currently have four Unicorn-class startups, one of them is the Online Travel Agency Traveloka. Even though current trends point towards E-commerce and Fintech as the most active subvertical among Indonesian startup investors, the Travel subvertical certainly cannot be easily ignored. What’s more is the tendency among upper-middle class in Indonesia to spend more of their disposable income on “experiences” (chiefly among them travel & vacation) rather than “material goods” such as gadgets and the like.
This survey aims to measure current Indonesian consumers’ attitude towards Online Travel Agencies (OTA). Survey conducted by DailySocial.id in cooperation with JakPat Mobile Survey Platform was carried out on February 2018, administered to a panel of 2013 respondents proportionally sampled from the JakPat survey respondents pool of smartphone users spread throughout Indonesia.
