Supporting Indonesia Philanthropy Festival 2016 Sankalp Forum Hosted Masterclass with Aavishkaar Angel Investing and Partnership Forum Encouraging Joint Efforts Role of Philanthropy

Sankalp Forum and Aavishkaar Venture Management Services introduced a diversity of philanthropic institutions in Indonesia, including programs to the general public

Jakarta, 10 October 2016 ‘ Indonesia Philanthropy Festival 2016 is the biggest philanthropy event in Indonesia which aims to promote the role and contribution of philanthropic institutions in achieving the 17 objectives SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) in Indonesia, which is expected to resolve a variety of global issues, such as reduce poverty and hunger also promoting health and education. Demonstrating its commitment to increase philanthropic institutions roles and sustainable development in Indonesia, Sankalp Forum, an initiative by Intellecap Advisory Services based in India also Kenya and Aavishkaar Venture Management Services, an investment arm of the Intellecap Group also supported this event by hosting several sessions that are expected to add more information to public about philanthropy’s world.

Sessions by Sankalp Forum and Aavishkaar Management Service were divided into three sections, namely:

2. Angel Investing ‘ New Tool for Philanthropists

These sessions have been attended by various speakers;Adi Sudewa (Senior Investment Manager, Aavishkaar Venture Management Services), Dondi Hananto (Founder Kinara Indonesia), Stephanie Hermawan (Founder Arbor & Troy, Advisor of Impact Investment of ANGIN ‘ AngelInvestment Network Indonesia), and Adriani Onie (Co-founder, AEQ ‘ Angel-eQInvestor Network).

Through Indonesia Philanthropy Festival, Sankalp Forum aims to become the part of its ecosystem where the roles of philanthropic institutions are more important as government partners to create prosperity. Therefore, this event is very important in order to make public aware about the roles and functions of philanthropic institutions in encouraging the people's economy and reduce poverty, in accordance to the purpose of SDGs, said Priyank Tiwari, Associate Director ‘ Sankalp Forum, Intellecap.

The rapid development of philanthropy in Indonesia is an indisputable fact, because it is driven by the rapidness of economic growth, as well as increased public awareness to share with others. Especially for Indonesia, the rapid of economic growth make this country as one of the fastest countries with the growing of rich population (popularly called High Net Worth Individual) in Asia. Wealth Insight report shows that the population of HNWIs in Indonesia grew by 67 percent between 2007 and 2011. This is certainly a great potential for the operation of philanthropic institutions.
