“This exciting programme will benefit all participants and the wider Indonesian economy. I am delighted the UK is doing so much to support the dynamic start-up scene in Indonesia. Collaborations like this spark innovation, forge new partnerships, and strengthen the bonds between our two countries.”

Director of the UK-Indonesia Tech Hub, Rachmalia Nikijuluw said,

“This programme is in line with the goals of the UK-Indonesia Tech Hub. We are building a global network of Tech Hubs with the aim of forging innovation partnerships between the UK and Indonesian technology sectors, stimulating the local digital economy; and building high-end digital skills to drive job creation and sustainable growth.”

“Endeavor’s credibility can be seen from programmes and network of outstanding business leaders it has. The impact of Endeavor Global, which has been established in 1997, and has been around for 9 years in Indonesia, makes UK-Indonesia Tech Hub believe that this collaboration can create a very good impact,” she added.

According to the annual Global Startup Ecosystem Report (GSER) 2021, Jakarta ranks third after Mumbai and Copenhagen out of one hundred cities worldwide on the list of “emerging start-up ecosystems”. Jakarta’s ranking is the highest in the Southeast Asia region, such as Kuala Lumpur, Ho Chi Minh City, Bangkok, and Manila.

Endeavor Indonesia Managing Director Wayah Wiroto stated that this programme was formed as a support for the creation of a strong entrepreneurial ecosystem in Indonesia. “The rankings in GSER 2021 showcases the strengths in ecosystems with the highest potential to become global top performers. Having a good support system is one of the supporting aspects,” he said.

With a network spread across nearly 40 countries, Endeavor has supported more than 2,100 entrepreneurs worldwide, supported by 80+ mentors and business leaders in Indonesia, as well as 3,000+ worldwide. “We welcome this collaboration with great pleasure. Being the best platform for catalyzing and developing the Indonesian economy is one of our shared values.
