Odin: Cloud Market for SMEs in Indonesia Reached Rp 15 Trillion This Year
Enterprise tech company Odin released its SMB Cloud Insights 2015 report for Indonesia. According to the report, the cloud market for SMEs in Indonesia is predicted to reach $1,2 billion (Rp 15 trillion) this year, with the Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) covers the most part.
IaaS indeed contibutes the most with Rp 6,1 trillion of market value or 40 percent of the total value. In the second rank, unified communication sits with Rp 4 trillion, followed by business app services with Rp 3,6 trillion. Web presence is still looking for an opportunity with Rp 1,6 trillion of total market value.
Prediction for the next three years
Besides mapping the market value of cloud services, the research also projects what cloud services, especially for SMEs, would be in the next three years. For IaaS, Odin predicted that the demand will keep on the rise, specifically for SMEs which have just decided to use cloud tech. In the coming 2018, IaaS’ market value is predicted to reach Rp 11,7 trillion.
The same thing will also conquer other services, although with different portions. The best performer will be business app services, with Rp 10,4 trillion of projected value in 2018, overtaking Unified Communications in the second place (could even top the list in 2020).
In 2018, the file sharing service is predicted to be one of the best among the SMEs in Indonesia with 27 percent of demand, followed by online backup in the second place with 25 percent.
