OVO and Kudo Engaged in Strategic Partnership
Integrating OVO balance in Kudo's O2O platform
OVO and Kudo announced their strategic partnership for system integration. One of the realizations is allowing Kudo's users to use OVO's e-money balance. The partnership will bring 1.4 million agents of Kudo's network to OVO's platform. It's to strenghten OVO's position as a payment platform in Indonesia.
The integration is expected to bring benefit for Kudo with OVO's user base that has reached 60 million people. Moreover, the partnership allows Kudo to offer a broader payment service to its agents.
Adrian Suherman, OVO's President Director, emphasized that this partnership confirms OVO's objective as an open platform. It's to be integrated with various public's on-demand services, anywhere.
OVO is a subsidiary of Lippo Group focused on digital payment platform. Kudo is an O2O agent-based payment startup. Both companies have a special relationship with Grab. OVO as GrabPay support system and Kudo has been acquired by Grab.
Kudo made its debut in 2014, helping agents (generally from stalls and SMEs) in more than 500 cities. Kudo's services provide access to all kinds of payment includes PPOB, ticketing, e-commerce purchasing, insurance, and lending money provider.
"The strategic partnership with OVO marks an important milestone for Kudo in Indonesia as we strive to accelerate growth. OVO and Kudo can now take advantage of each expertise and network to launch mobile payment service to millions of consumers and SMEs," Albert Lucius, Kudo's CEO, said.
On the same occasion, OVO also announced they immediately add QR Code capability to extend potential use of service. Furthermore, users can access OVO Wallet QR using OVO and Grab apps. It's also the follow-up act to the previous collaboration with some partners, including Alfamart and Moka.
