HotelQuickly Focuses on Growing Teams Outside Jakarta

HotelQuickly just announced its expansion in South Korea today, which completes its existence in 15 APAC countries so far. The team also updated their mobile app for both iOS and Android. In Indonesia, HotelQuickly has partnered with more than 700 hotel partners in 40 cities.

Regarding the updates, HotelQuickly’s Co-Founder and CTO Michal Juhas commented, “Our iOS and Android team have worked really hard in updating our HotelQuickly app. Not only becoming more intuitive now, it’s also visually more attractive. Some teams even went down the street to do the beta-testing. We would like to know about respondents’ opinion on its performance.”

As for its performance in Indonesia, as HotelQuickly’s Co-Founder and Managing Director in Indonesia and Malaysia Faustine Tan suggested, the startup has now gathered no less than 60 thousand users and more are expected to join as more destination and services are being added. In Indonesia, HotelQuickly is dominated by markets in main cities like Jakarta, cities in Bali, Surabaya, Semarang, and Bandung.

Talking about HotelQuickly’s growth focus in Indonesia, Tan revealed, “We are currently adding more destinations and developing our team in Indonesia, not only in Jakarta. As per this month, we’ve already appointed a Market Manager who is based in Bali and Bandung. A group of local hotel chains, such as KAGUM, HORISON, and Swiss BelHotel International, have partnered with us, too. The average daily discount of Indonesian hotels is up to 28%.”

In 2015, Tan claimed that her team plans to add more partnership for promotion and team development by recruiting Market Manager and Marketing Manager to be stationed outside Jakarta.

“Since the Indonesian market is extremely wide, we can’t solely focus on Jakarta,” she argued.

While the marketing department remains being the main focus, HotelQuickly also attempts to adopt more payment options, so that users without credit card may order, to accommodate the fact that there are only 6-7% of Indonesians utilize credit cards.
