Kieeds Goes Into Beta, Turns Into Social Network Parenting
Remember Kieeds? We covered the alpha version back in April. The social network that bridges the relationship between teachers, schools and parents will be available in beta today. Along with this release, Kieeds will also launch a new logo, a new site, and new features. Currently the beta will be available as web-only versions and the company is sunsetting the existing BlackBerry app until a new version is available which is expected to be coming in January 2012.
What are the highlights of this beta version of Kieeds? Not only will it deal with the cognitive aspect at schools, Kieeds is working to increase the distribution of information related to physical, motor, and psychosocial aspects. Kieeds will also provide information on hospitals, child care centers and doctors.
In the beta version, schools will be able to take advantage of Kieeds to maintain communication with parents just as in the alpha version. The school account covers parents, teachers and other academic staff, provided within the Group Account, while School Reporting comes in the form of private messaging to be used by school staff and parents.
Other new features in the beta version of Kieeds include Share Thoughts, Share Article, Share Activity and Quanswer (Q&A) which were designed specifically to discuss information on child growth. You can check out the beta in the web tour before trying it out yourself.
Kieeds is one of the few apps aimed at children and education in Indoensia. Clearly there is still a lot to be explored in this category given the growth of the number of schools and pre-schools as well as teachers who are becoming more technologically aware.
