Multiply Indonesia to Hire Another Telco Exec

Another talent acquisition news comes in today. Joining Andy Djiwandono who once former exec of a telco company, Dolly Surya Wisaka is going to be member of Multiply Indonesia team starting next Monday. Dolly, who's been with XL for about 9 years and serving as Manager for Operation Internet Mobile Data Services as his last position cited from his LinkedIn page, will start his next endeavor with commerce site that's headquartered in Florida. His next position is yet to be announced. Multiply just launched its Indonesia branch last Tuesday by inviting some notable bloggers to open (or re-open) their blogs with Multiply platform, while christened themselves as a social commerce site.

There's not much to tell what Dolly will oversee in Multiply as it will be revealed (to us) after he's completely becoming Multiply team member. Yet, we got scoop that Multiply is in talk with a telco operator on opening opportunity to create e-wallet -- where someday consumer can buy things on Multiply with their phone's credit and possibility on bringing Multiply into mobile realm. Multiply, as captured in one of their 2010's press release, is now focusing on Southeast Asia region as it turns out to be their strongest market. In Indonesia, Multiply will focus to be a social commerce market, where they have already opened payment system with Internet banking, PayPal and (soon) with credit card.

Previously, Multiply Indonesia has attracted Andy Djiwandono, formerly Head of Marketing Strategy and Planning of Natrindo (Axis) to join. Prior to that, Andy was an employee of XL too. Lead by Country Manager, Daniel Tumiwa, Multiply Indonesia will compete directly with other commerce platforms like Plasa, Rakuten MNC, Tokobagus and Tokopedia, to name a few. An advantage is gained since there are already huge numbers of Multiply avid users, mostly are housewives with their home business. They just need to facilitate them for payment system in order to gain bigger traction.

We at DailySocial congratulate Dolly for his new position and hopefully he can bring some fresh air into e-commerce environment in Indonesia which will be having strong movement this year.
