Pinterest Opens New Office in Singapore, Focusing on India and Southeast Asia

Pinterest officially launched an office in Singapore focusing on India and Southeast Asia coverage. The new space is part of its growing business in the Asia Pacific. Indonesia counts as an essential market due to the rapid growth of the digital economy.
Pinterest' India & Southeast Asia Country Manager, Ayumi Nakajima said to DailySocial, "With our team based in Singapore, we'll provide more significant experience for India & Southeast Asia user base."
"We have a growing and very enthusiast user base in the Asia Pacific, and a big opportunity for business to connect with their audiences on Pinterest, which actively consider when to buy or do things. This is our main objective in deciding to launch an office in the Asia Pacific that includes India and Southeast Asia," she added.
The opening of a new office in Singapore began their journey in this area, including Indonesia. On Pinterest objectives, Indonesia counts as an essential market because many of its population has been using Pinterest for inspiration of various moments.
One of the strategies to implement in India & Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, is to help brands, publishers, and producers to involve with audiences on Pinterest.
"The more local content we have on Pinterest, the more experience for people to find relevant ideas, and it's important for content creators to interact more with audiences. We wish to have more partners in this area and create a more relevant experience for all users in India & Southeast Asia," Nakajima added.
Facts of Pinterest users in Indonesia
During last year, Pinterest users in Indonesia are attracted to ideas about food, home decor, fashion, travel, and tourism. Pinterest views the local interest are kind of vary.
In June 2018 to June 2019, "Korean recipe" food search has increased by 78%, almost on the same level as the "modern kebaya" fashion and beauty ideas that reaches 58%.
The rising trend of "minimalist" home decor ideas and "Korean" travel recommendation with over a 100% increase.
