KakaoTalk Makes Group Communication Easier With New Schedule Feature

Also offers BBM Connect to integrate with Blackberry

JAKARTA, 14 January 2013. KakaoTalk, the cross-platform mobile group- messaging app for iPhone, Android, Windows Phone, and BlackBerry, adds new key feature to its group-messaging component, Schedule. On the same note, KakaoTalk aims to penetrate Blackberry users with Blackberry Connect on the latest KakaoTalk version on Blackberry.

Schedule is another addition to a list of great group features that KakaoTalk provides for its users. Group communication is more fun and easier to manage with KakaoTalk, which allows users to have a group chat without being restricted by the number of members in one group chat, share multiple pictures with a group at a single click, create a sticky notification for an important group announcement, make a shortcut of your favorite group chat room on the desktop, or have a free group call up to five friends.

The new feature, Schedule, is being introduced to help its users, who use group messaging frequently, to make appointments with their friends. To use the new Schedule feature, simply push the (>) button beside the smiley button inside the chat room, click on the Schedule to create an event. Friends in the group chat room can RSVP immediately. Topping it off, after you pressed attend button, you can choose to save that event/schedule on your phone’s calendar so you don’t forget it. Arranging a group event has never been this easy!

Schedule feature is available only on iPhone and Android for now. Yet, aiming to penetrate countries with high-usage of Blackberry, KakaoTalk has implemented Blackberry Connect on its latest version of KakaoTalk for Blackberry released on Jan. 12. Now, Blackberry users can easily send invitation to use KakaoTalk to their BBM friends and chat inside KakaoTalk to express themselves in a fun way using moving emoticons and stickers. The newest version also has improved the speed and performance.

Yujin Sohn, VP of Global Business Development for KakaoTalk, commenting on this recent development of KakaoTalk Group messaging has always been a very popular feature on KakaoTalk, and we have been ceaselessly endeavoring to develop features that could make group communication easier, smarter, and more fun. Once a user fully experiences group communication on KakaoTalk, we
are sure that they will find it difficult to go back to life without it.
