UangTeman hires Uber Indonesia Country Head of Supply Acquisition to scale its online lending serviceIndonesia

UangTeman.com today announced a senior level appointment of Mr. Wilson Santoso (Wilson) as its Director, Marketing & Communications as it looks to scale its user acquisition and adoption in Indonesia. This appointment follows its recent Series A raise of US$12 million (equity and debt) from various local and international investors including Draper Associates (the fund of famed Silicon Valley investor, Tim Draper) and Alpha JWC Ventures.

Based in Jakarta and having served previously as Uber Indonesia’s Country Head of Supply Acquisition, Wilson will be responsible for leading UangTeman’s efforts to scale its user acquisition, retention and to raise brand awareness in Indonesia. With almost 3 years operations since its launch in April 2015, UangTeman has seen steady growth with more than US$10m in microloans underwritten digitally. With a better than industry average write-offs of less than 2%, UangTeman has seen growth in excess of 300% in 2016, topping it with a further growth of more than 400% in 2017.

Wilson has more than 10 years in both the technology, creative advertising and event industry, with an extensive background in helping technology companies like Uber set up operations and scale its supply & demand acquisition. Wilson was one of the Uber Indonesia’s First founding team of 2 (Employee #2), a consultant for supply growth in 4 Mega-Regions of Uber Global, and was instrumental in his stint with Regional Marketing team of Uber India. He has a rare portfolio for insightful brand communication campaigns, exceptional track record in acquisition, and strategic acumen in project management.
