APJII Officially Partners with Nawala
Around 250 Internet Service Provider (ISP) companies that are members of APJII, now can use Nawala DNS to filter the negative content on the internet. It is made official with the cooperation between APJII and Nawala last Tuesday in Jakarta.
As reported by Kompas Tekno, in the cooperation APJII will provide 5 servers and operational cost to support the servers, while Nawala will provide the database of domains with negative content. Negative content in question is not only pornographic content but also gambling, racial incitement motivated, malicious programs, theft and fraudulent online transaction.
Although the utilization of Nawala DNS is not compulsory for APJII member ISP, but APJII’s Chairman, Sammy Pangerapan reminds that according to the Law of Information and Online Transactions, internet service provider is responsible for every content of the internet. Therefore, it’s better for APJII member to use the service to block negative content.
Today, Nawala’s database has more than 800.000 websites with negative content. Saat ini, database Nawala menyimpan sekitar 800.000 situs dengan konten negatif. In accordance to the agreement which was unveiled yesterday, this number will keep on increasing.
Other than Nawala, related to the security of internet network, APJII also cooperates with other parties. According to the explanation given by Secretary General of APJII, Sapto Anggoro, as reported by AntaraNews, APJII also has cooperated with Indonesian Security Incident Response Team (ID-SIRTI) and Indonesian Cyber Task Force Center (ID-CERT) which actively provide the data on security breaching.
