Traveloka Introduces R&D Center in Bangalore, India

Starting off early this year, supported by 60 engineer

Traveloka (1/28) has just launched its new office in Bangalore, India. Legally named Traveloka India Pvt. Ltd., the office will be focused on Research and Development (R&D) activities. It was attended by Ferry Unardi, Traveloka's Co-Founder and CEO.

The India's office has marked Traveloka's 6th expansion after Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, and the Philippines. It's the second R&D center after the one in Singapore. It marks the first international expansion outside Southeast Asia.

The launching was attended by Prashant Verma as Traveloka Bangalore VP Engineering. He stated in his speech that the team will work to prepare platforms and products which capable to provide experience and engagement for Traveloka users.

"Traveloka office in Bangalore plays an important role to keep making and developing technology innovation capacity. Equipped with facility and infrastructure of the latest and leading technology, it's expected to support engineer team to collaborate better with local or international," he added.

The R&D center is located in Embassy Tech Village, known as the heart of "Silicon Valley" in India. While India is currently known as one of the fastest growing tech countries in the world. It encourages Traveloka to build a Research & Development Center in Bangalore.

Traveloka Bangalore has been officially operating since early 2019 and has built a team of more than 60 engineers. Up until now, Traveloka has hired more than 500 engineers from all around the world.

In addition, another Indonesian startup having R&D center in Bangalore is Gojek. In general, unicorns are now focusing on innovation this year. Bukalapak is included, they're just launching an R&D center in Bandung - product development and innovation will one of this year's main focus.
