Demo Day Hackaton Sparxup 2012: The Next Four Teams
From the 13 teams registered at the Sparxup 2012 Hackathon, there were 10 teams that presented their apps at the demo day. The first six teams had been published earlier. The following are the next four teams that presented their apps during the demo day on Thursday, before the judges, fellow developers, and attendees.
Alfasoft -Tryout Plus Tryout Plus is an app that can be used by students from elementary to high school to revise their subjects. This app contains a problem bank that students can select questions from to help them with their studies. Being a mobile app, students will be able to use this app at any time during the day. Parents can receive reports of their children's performance progress from the app thanks to the use of the Evernote API.
Zero Mind Labs - StoreQ StoreQ is an e-commerce app that takes advantage of the API from BliBli. It lists the different kinds of products that are sold through BliBli. There's a menu category and a list of top products to make it easier to find items. Stores with physical locations can be found through the use of Nokia Maps.
Because this app is location based, people can look for stores around them that are listed on BliBli. There's also an augmented reality feature that helps people to find the nearest store locations. This feature shows distance alongside the name of the store so people can easily discover them.
Koteka Labs - Diary Travel The Koteka Labs team created an app called Diary Travel which is meant to be used to share stories about particular venues or locations. The four main features of this app are to search for locations or friends using augmented reality, storing stories about locations using Evernote, seeking nearest locations to the user, as well as keyword-based location search.
While this app uses APIs from Foursquare and Evernote, it's also linked up to WordPress, Twitter, and Facebook so the app's user can share their notes and locations using those other services.
Fowab - Travelogger Travelogger helps travelers to create notes of their trips. In a single trip, the app can be used to store photos, check ins, as well as notes made during the trip. This app creates an environment that puts together all of those records into a single collection specifically for that journey, one book for one trip. The entire collection can then be posted as a blog post automatically after the trip.
The result of the hackathon will be announced during the Sparxup awarding night on Friday. The event will be held at Mandiri Tower, Plaza bapindo from 6:30 pm. Aside from announcing the winner of the hackathon, the winner of the Sparxup Startup Award will also be revealed at the event.
