DSInnovate has released the "MSME Empowerment Report 2022", which focuses on the growth of MSME businesses in Indonesia and their ability to undergo digital transformation. The report provides a comprehensive analysis of the opportunities and obstacles of digitalization for MSMEs in Indonesia based on a survey of 1500 MSME players in the country.

Researchers also interviewed relevant stakeholders to explore opportunities for digital transformation in Indonesian MSMEs.

There are several interesting findings, one regarding the increasingly high level of digital awareness among small business actors. 87% of respondents said they were aware of digitalization opportunities, while 83.8% had started implementing technology at various scales in their businesses. Even though the level of inclusion is already high, the educational process still needs a lot of emphases to bring about effectiveness in the use of technology.

In addition, several other interesting findings are packaged into four different sections. Starting from an overview of the MSME landscape, digital transformation opportunities and challenges, digital technology adoption, and industry stakeholder perspectives regarding digitalization in MSMEs.
